Rock Bottom

A small, serious, and free experience about mental health and empathy.

In Rock Bottom, you talk to your brother during a depressive crisis. He ran off and might get hurt. Your goal is to choose the most supportive responses to convince him to stop, breathe, and accept help.

There’s no frantic action or guaranteed “happy ending”, only dialogue, listening, and care. Every choice you make shapes the conversation.

How to Play

  • Keys 1, 2, and 3: select the line you’d say in that moment.

  • Read carefully, notice the tone, and try to validate feelings, avoid judgment, and offer realistic support.

What This Is (and Isn’t)

  • ✔️ A short exercise in nonviolent communication and empathy.

  • ✔️ An invitation to active listening when someone you love is in crisis.

  • Not a substitute for therapy, psychiatry, or emergency services.

Content Warning

This game addresses depression, emotional crisis, and psychological distress. Play when you feel okay to engage.
If you or someone close to you is in immediate danger, seek professional help and contact local emergency services right away.

Why Play

  • To practice empathy in difficult situations.

  • To reflect on how words can support — or push away — someone who is suffering.

  • Because sometimes, listening and choosing carefully is exactly what we can (and should) do.

Thank you for playing. Take care of yourself and your loved ones.
